|
| The newly created Energy Frontier Research Center (EFRC) Materials Science of Actinides invites applications for post-doctoral and graduate student opportunities. Positions are available at each of the five universities partnered in the EFRC: University of Notre Dame (lead: Peter C. Burns), University of Michigan (lead: Rodney C. Ewing), University of California-Davis (lead: Alexandra Navrotsky), George Washington University, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The EFRC conducts transformative research in the actinide sciences with full integration of experimental and computational approaches, and an emphasis on questions that are important to the energy future of the nation. Research is focused on actinide-based materials, especially those with nanoscale and otherwise complex structures, and the properties of these materials in extreme environments. Applicants for graduate studies are welcome from students with undergraduate degrees in the physical sciences and engineering. Interested prospective graduate students can request information by contacting rodewing@umich.edu or by contacting any of the researchers listed on www.ndefrc.com. Further information about the EFRC is available at www.ndefrc.com. |
