Camp Davis Alumni Getaway 11th – 15th of August 2004
The Department welcomes you to participate in the next Camp Davis Alumni Getaway, scheduled for August 11th – 15th , 2004 (arrive the afternoon of the 10th of August and depart the morning ot the 16th of August). This event will be an opportunity for alumni and friends to visit the Camp Davis area, staying in the camp facilities after the departure of the field camp students. The concept driving this adventure is a desire to share this spectacular resource with our alumni, faculty, and friends.
If you’ve never been to Camp Davis, it is located just South of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, allowing easy access to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Camp Davis can serve as a base for your independent excursions around this region, or as a reunion where you can reacquaint yourself with old friends and the current U of M crew. Several sight seeing and hiking activities have been organized to areas of the Teton and adjacent Gros Ventre Mountians, and local outfitters will provide float trips and wildlife excursions. U of M staff will be available to guide your activities and provide stimulating evening lectures.
The accommodations at Camp are rustic and simple: a limited number of staff cabins are available, and student cabins will be open for the adventurous at heart. We also have areas available for tents and RV’s. Meals will be prepared and served each evening in our Mess Hall. All costs are charged on a per person basis for the 5 day event. All costs of contracted outdoor excursions (white water rafting, horseback riding, etc.) are additional, although we will make the group reservations for these activities. In addition, a $50 per adult activity fee to cover related costs.
